Tain & District Youth Cafe YMCA
Releasing the potential of children and young peopleHome.html

The key work of the volunteers is to build relationships with the young people. It is through the relationship that we can encourage the young person on their own individual life journey. Therefore in the main all volunteers are restricted to just one evening or one piece of programme as different young people attend on different nights or lunchtimes. Volunteering for the Board is slightly different as under the terms of our constitution you must be an active Christian. The Board meet monthly though this could be changing to bi-monthly.

All volunteers over 18 years of age have to be Police Checked via the disclosure system introduced by the Scottish Parliament We will guide you through this by the Youth worker and the Child Protection officer for the Board. There are regular training events for the volunteers.
