The Youth Cafe is supported by the local churches of Tain and the community at large. It has strong links with the Community Council and the local schools, often operating in partnership with them.
The cafe has a full time Youth and Community Worker however we need three volunteers to assist every time the cafe is open. We have a very loyal volunteer base but more help is required to keep the cafe operating to its full potential. Please contact us if you could hel us for just a shot time each week.
The Youth Cafe is a registered charity (SC027164) and relies totally on donations and grants to cover running and capital costs. Over the last few years we have benifited greatly due to funding from the BBC children in need appeal, this covered the salary of our Youth and Community worker.
Donations and Grants from the following organisations have made the development of the Youth Cafe and Back Yard area possible.
Lloyds TSB
Robertson Trust
Highland Year of Culture 2007
The Scottish Community foundation
The Scottish Community Challenge Fund
Tain Common Good Fund
