Welcome to the home page of the Tain & District Youth Cafe YMCA.  We hope that you enjoy reading all about us and the work we undertake with childen, young people and the community.

The Tain & District Youth Cafe YMCA has been transformed over the last three years into a leading venue for young people form Tain and the surrounding areas. The board, Staff, Volunteers and Young People have all being involved in raising the money for the recent re-development work turning the café into something truly special.

The Tain Youth Cafe is part of the YMCA movement and the Christian element of the work we undertake here is crucial for us.

One of our key objectives is to share the Christian faith to all those who use the facilities and help them with thier own spiritual journey

The Café is split into 3 main areas. The “Café” is located on the ground floor of the building which can be accessed from Stafford Street. This is the main social area which includes a fully stocked “Coffee Bar”, Pool tables, comfortable seating, a 6ft projector TV as well as a state of the art sound and entertainment system including the recently released xbox360.

“The Back Yard” is the most recently developed area. Funding was secured to turn this area into a state of the art music and performance venue. In this area on a normal “Drop In” night you can find 2 table tennis tables and a further pool table there is music from 2 speakers fed from the system in the “Café” area.

This area also contains a brand new 3600w sound system and an 18 piece lighting rig hanging from the roof which can put on a real show for DJ’s, Bands and Performers alike. Regular events in this area can be found in the program area of the site.

"The Upper Room" is a space avaliable for groups to meet in.  You can arrange use of this by contacting the youth cafe.

• New Instruments inc Electro acoustic guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar and full Drum Kit to assist with new monday music group.
